This has been a big week for Camryn! She started smiling, she's now "talking" and she can roll from her stomach to her back--which she tries to do everytime you put her on her stomach--though she's not always successful! We can't believe it! Our good friends had their baby today and we can't wait to meet Camryn's "future husband". Camryn's newborn photo session proofs also came in this week...if you want to see them the link is posted below, ENJOY!

Camryn's First Snow!
This past weekend NC got it's most likely one and only snow of the year...at least that's the normal number of times we get snow. We decided (after much convincing) to stay at Jenna's parents for the weekend...we couldn't turn down the jacuzzi, free food, bananagrams, and help with Cam! We ended up getting at least 5" and it was beautiful! Pops (Tom) got stuck in Florida until late Saturday night when he was able to fly to Charlotte and then drive to Raleigh. Camryn did great in the snow! She slept most of the time we were out but enjoyed her walk in the Baby Bjorn and sledding around the yard in her carseat. We finally came home last night after the roads were good enough to drive on.
A general update on Camryn, she is 6 weeks today! She is starting to smile at people and still loves to stare up at fans, pictures, anything really. She has a short attention span however so you have to give her a change in scenary quite often! This past week has started going a consistent 4.5-6 hrs at night between feedings, YAY! She doesn't sleep that entire time but it's better then feeding every 3 hours. She loves being held and she really hates sleeping on her back...she much prefers her side. Sooner than later she will be moving into her nursery. Her pacifier is her best friend (and Jenna's!!). At her one month appointment Cam clocked in at a whopping 8 lbs 11 oz, up 21 ounces in 2 weeks! Obviously she is eating well, the lil porker! She's starting to finally get the thigh rolls and wrist rolls, so cute!! Jenna's grandmother and one of her aunts will be meeting Camryn in a few weeks when they fly in for a quick visit. This will the first of Jenna's extended family to see her. In March we are flying up to Michigan for Jenna's grandfather's 90th birthday so the rest of the family will meet lil miss then. Traveling with a not quite 3 month old will definantly be interesting!! Brett is doing great with Camryn and has titled himself the "champion burper", stating that he can always get her to burp. He is getting more helpful with night time feedings and loves to kiss on Camryn whenever he can. He still likes to hand her off when the screaming will not subside, but we are working on that! On another note, anybody have any secrets for getting baby poop out of clothes besides washing them a million times??
We hope this finds you all well and safe and that you are having a fabulous new year so far! Hope to hear or see you all soon!

4 weeks and counting!
This first month has flown by! Camryn is starting to wake up a little bit more--of course not always when I would like it, like 4 AM. We love her alert times! She has such big, beautiful eyes and she LOVES to stare at the fans and pictures on the walls...it's too cute to see her entranced! She is starting to fight going to sleep when she's tired which is so NOT fun! I'm reading Happiest Baby on the Block and getting some good pointers but I'm always open to more!! Brett has been great with letting me get some sleep when he's home. He'll get up with Camryn in the morning and watch her so I can get a few hours of undisturbed sleep which has been lifesaving! Our friends have been great with bringing by meals! It has been so nice not to cook as much! Also, Brett's mom and my mom have come over and watched Camryn for a couple hours to allow me to run some errands childless which I so took for granted!! Today we took our first walk. It was a gorgeous 65 degrees so we couldn't pass up enjoying the day, plus I need to get back to exercising!
A little bit about Camryn--She is definitely a pacifier girl, don't you dare take it away from her! She doesn't just poop, she explodes, so watch out or your clothes or carpet or bed skirt will be ruined. She doesn't eat, she inhales her food! It can never get in there quick enough and she will only burp on occasion, it is never a guarantee! She loves to sleep still and is an all around good sleeper. She is a squirmer and already loves to lift her head and look around, such a strong little girl!
Friday is our one month appointment and we can't wait to find out how much weight she has gained! I call her my "chunky monkey" because of how active she is and how much she loves to eat! We'll see if that translates into ounces! Friday we are also going to the huge Kids Consignment sale at the state fairgrounds with our neighbors to look for a bunch of things we need for lil miss that we haven't bought yet. I'm excited to see what deals we can find!
I'll post more pictures soon!
Oh--BTW--whoever said babies average 10 diapers/day LIED!! I need to buy stock in Pampers!!

Wow! She's 2 weeks already!
The past two weeks have flown by! The holidays have definantly helped time pass even quicker! We hardly were home for the first week which made having a schedule really hard. Camryn had a pretty bad case of jaundice the first week so we were feeding kiddo around the clock! The hard part with that is she's a sleeper and it took just as much time to wake her up as it did for her to eat. Fortunately in the last week she wakes up on her own to eat--which is great for Jenna so she gets some sleep in between feedings. She still loves to sleep but definantly knows when she is hungry! Lil chunker went from 6 lbs 11 oz last week to 7 lbs 6 oz this week, so you know she is eating enough. So far she looks like she has Brett's eyes and Jenna's nose and mouth. But you know how that can change!
We have so many hilariuos diaper changing stories, just like I'm sure everyone does. The funniest are of course with Brett trying to change dirty diapers...haha...you can probably imagine.
Yesterday Camryn had her newborn pictures done by a great friend and awesome photographer Nancy Ray. We all had a great time and can't wait to see all the pictures, we are going to have a hard time choosing...I have a feeling the house is going to be covered in pictures of Camryn!!
Jenna's parents have been over a lot and been a great help! Tomorrow "Nana" is watching Cam at the hair salon so Mom (so weird) can get her hair cut. "Pops" and "Nana" love holding and spoiling Camryn already! They come over several times a week and she loves to be held!
So obviuosly so far things are going well! Breastfeeding is getting into a routine and Jenna is starting to feel more normal...just weird that she doesn't have to go to work. We'll keep you all posted!

Camryn Grace Dysart is here!
Tuesday Brett and I went to the hospital for my induction. Started pitocin at 7:30, they broke my water at 8:30, epidural 10:45 and her arrival at 4:25 pm! Things went really smoothly, thank the Lord!, and pretty quick! Once I got to 4 cm it was only 2 1/2 hrs later and she was here! Thankfully I only had to push for 4 contractions (while I puked my brains out!). I don't know how people push for hours on end!! My labor progressed so rapidly at the end that none of my family was even at the hospital--my mom was not too happy about that! Of course the only time Brett left the room was 5 mins before Jeanette (my nurse) checked me and lil miss was practically crowning! Dr. Mohr delivered her and was fabulous! Brett and I both had a great experience. Brett was super supportive and did a great job! It was a great experience for him to see my work environment at Rex and he was so interested in everything with Camryn's delivery. Even crazier is after delivery we found out that she had a true knot in her umbilical cord. Those happen when the baby is so active that they flip around and tie a knot, usually during the first trimester. This is something else that inhibits blood flow to the baby. This lil girl was truly meant to be here between my progesterone problems with this pregnancy, the 2 vessel cord and then a knot to top it off! She weighed a lot more than everyone thought, 7 lbs and was 21 inches long.
Since delivery Camryn has been a great baby so far! She loves to sleep and has only woken up once during the night to be fed, every other time I have to set an alarm to wake her up to eat! She's a great eater which has definantly helped. I also totally understand why people bottle feed, holy cow! Saturday we head to the pediatrician and get her bilirubin levels checked and her first dr's appt.
We want to thank you all for your love, support and prayers! We so appreciate and covet them! As new parents we need all the help we can get!! We'll keep you all posted!
